Vacuum Pumps

Vacuum pumps are typically used in applications where a larger, non-self-priming pump is being utilised; i.e. Mixed flow. The vacuum pump is typically run to prime the main pump in the system to allow for the main pump to operate correctly.

Vacuum pumps can be direct coupled to an electric motor and paired with a tank of water that is used to prime the main pump. Alternatively, they can also be driven as an “accessory” off a diesel engine. Macquarrie offers options capable of 9m head and 18 litres per second.
